‘I am a student who was mostly self taught (and therefore rather badly taught) until I started taking lessons with Josie more than two years ago. I like the way she teaches. She is excellent at understanding what I am having difficulty with and helping me to find solutions that really help my playing develop between lessons. She is brilliant at pinning down what is going wrong, but just as good at pointing out what is going well. I always feel really encouraged and enthusiastic at the end of each lesson. I know my playing is more sensitive, technically far better than it was and certainly more confident. I love playing and I adore flute music and Josie certainly shares this passion. Lessons are hard work, but they are always great fun and I always finish feeling inspired to practise and keen to get better. Friends who have heard my playing over the past few years have all commented on how my playing has come on since I have been working with Josie.’
